[Icom] CT-17 wiring?

The circuit at http://www.qsl.net/civ_commander/interface.jpg can
probably be built from your junkbox; if not, it will set you back ~$5 at
your local Radio Shack.

As shown, the circuit derives its power from your serial port's modem
control signals (RTS, CTS, and DSR). If you go this route, be sure to
configure the transceiver control software you use to assert these
signals; if you have a local 12VDC supply, I'd use that instead.

If you're looking for software to exploit this interface, take a look at
DXLab at www.qsl.net/dxlab , a free suite of applications that
interoperate via DDE. The DDE interfaces are all publicly available, as
is a sample application that exploits them. Thus you can use Commander,
DXLab's transceiver control application, as means of servicing multiple
transceiver control clients.

Subject: [Icom] CT-17 wiring?

Hello group, I'm wondering if anyone might be able to give me some
information on the CT-71 CI-V interface wiring. While $120 isn't all
that much to pay for a manufactured one, if it's something as simple as
a level converter that I could build myself, I might want to give it a
try. Hmm, I just realized that the IC-706MKIIG is the first radio I've
owned that didn't come with schematics or details about the hardware
interfaces. Anyway, thanks in advance for any info and 73 to all.
