[Icom] V8000 Comments

I would like to hear from users of the Icom V8000 2 meter rig. I am
interested in likes , dislikes, problems of any kind, such as learning
curve, mounting of rig, esp. intermod problems, etc. I have read the QST
report and would now like to hear how it does in the real world. I am
considering buying one now as I had a very lucky bit of fate I will share as
this doesn't happen too often and possibly someone else might have the same
chance some day. The XYL and myself came upon a police stop with 5 cars
involved,(no it wasn't a doughnut shop robbery) and out of the clear blue
the XYL said "If we had a radio in my car we could listen in and find out
what is going on."  Holding back a huge grin I said with my straightest
face," I could put  one in here but I would have to put a small antenna on
the trunk." She says "That's fine dear." So here I am checking on rigs. And
before you flame me on the Police crack I have a lot of family and friends
in law enforcement and am a FOPA member myself.  Sorry for the extra
bandwith but I just couldn't resist telling of my good fortune! Thanks, Rick
