Well, there is a warranty just not in the USA you would have too ship it back 
to Japan for major repairs under warranty. Also the reason you will not see 
many doing this is there is not much savings on the actual radio prices I 
found pricing to be within 75.00 to 100.00 dollars of USA prices where there 
is been a huge difference in prices our on the amps 3300.00 is much better 
than 4600.00 now there is some savings if you already there in Japan, Also 
the accessories cables and mic speaker our much cheaper example SM-20 Mic 
89.00 compared 200.00  sp 20 - speaker 90.00/ compared 240.00 sp21 47.00 
compared to 100.00 also many radios that our discontinued in the states our 
still available in Japan brand new 970 J VHF/UHF radio still have them But 
most of the bands do not match up and you have to change mother board the 
radio can be had for 1700.00 you can still buy it. Thought i just throw in my 
experence as of last month.  Makes you wonder why the dealers our asking for 
such a premium for the amp if you can buy it there 3300.00 and there still 
making money? The stores our like walking into HRO and AES.
