Hi Hart,

The Pro2 has two notch filters; a tuneable IF notch filter inside the AGC
loop, which will reduce a single tone by 70 dB, and a post-AGC automatic
notch which suppresses single or multiple tones. The tuneable notch will
prevent a strong carrier from swamping the receiver.

Using the variable-bandwidth DSP IF filters, the notch filters, the DSP
noise reduction and the Twin Passband Tuning, you will be able to customise
the receiver for almost any imaginable band conditions. The noise reduction
eliminates most of the "hissing sound", and the Pro2 also has an excellent
adjustable noise blanker.

The transmitter has three SSB occupied-bandwidth settings, a microphone
equaliser and a speech processor - all implemented in the DSP. With these
facilities, and a microphone such as the Heil GoldLine/HC5, you will be able
to configure the transmitter for DX-chasing, rag-chewing with pleasant audio
or whatever takes your fancy.

Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

Adam,

Thanks for the quick responce. How is the dsp/notch filters for the hissing
sound on the HF bands? for local and dx rag chewing purposes?

Hart
