Great advice Clete. In fact that is basically similar to what I did yesterday that fixed 
this.

I took the straight thru MFJ949D and the dow key relay and the blitz bug out of line 
and just connected the coax straight to the ANT 1 terminal and bingo it started 
working again.

The length of ladder line would not be a factor because it was working 100% 
before with the same set up.

Again thanks to everyone who suggested things to try. I am now back on the air!
