and with the high price they are now charging for the IC746 Pro they can 
certainly afford it. Is that an internal or external power supply?

I always think that a self-contained 120V AC station in one box is nice. The 746 is 
rather a huge box compared to say an IC706MkIIG or
a Yaesu FT897...
