I use an SGC 237 autotuner to tune my antenna on 80 to 10M which is similar
in setup to yours (I run a 756PROII barefoot). The antenna itself is a
little shorter (44' each side of center) so that it performs as an extended
double zepp on 20M but otherwise the setup is like yours.
Works great and I love not having to fiddle with a manual tuner although
each band change requires me to 'tune up' by putting the rig in RTTY and
hitting Transmit for a few seconds.
I had considered an LDG autotuner but after modeling the setup using EZNEC 3
I realized the impedance range was too great not only for the internal
756PROII autotuner but for the LDG as well. The SGC 237 seems to handle it
fine (due to its ability to couple to a wider range of impedances).

Subject: [Icom] Antenna Balun/IC-756PRO
I have an 80 meter half wave dipole fed in the center with ladder line. I
have been using an external antenna tuner for years to tune this antenna to
all bands.
If I use a BALUN and then coax into my IC-756PRO, does the internal tuner
have the range to tune this antenna on all bands above 80 meters?
