[Icom] Two Questions

Hi All,

I recently purchased an original IC-706 and just got back from taking in on
a trip to Hawaii.  ON this trip I noticed two things about which I would
like to inquire.  First, mine seems to have a slow speed fan that runs all
the time and then kicks up to high speed on transmit.  Is this fan necessary
n receive or is there a way to mod the radio to only have it run on
transmit?

Second, is there an Icom brand or an after market hand mic available which
offers a touch tone pad for controlling repeaters, IRLP nodes and so forth?
