[Icom] need help on installing fl-257

i own as you may know an icom 775dsp and wamted
to improve the ausio on receive and transmit. below is a mod i got from
some othe rham which doesnt seem right :

Hi Justin thanks for the email i also have the ICOM-775DSP and
what a nice radio. Back then when the radio first came out it came with
the 2.4 ssb filter which is the FL-80. Now Icom has come out with there
NEW filters and you can buy the ICOM FL-70 SSB WIDE and boy that 
is a big jump on broadcast audio. Then you take out the 222 1.9 khz
if ssb filter and put the ICOM FL-257 which is the 3.3 khz 455 IF ssb
filter. I also have a friend that put the FL-96 it is a 2.8 ssb filter
also on
the 455 khz slot i have done the mode to mines and what a difference in
the Audio.

      



now when i opened up the radio the fl-222 is not there as its optional
but the fl-96 is there  as its stock so thats one thing, so what i did
was i put the fl-257(3.3k wide ssb on 455k slot) in the place where the
fl-222 optional filter goes on the 455k slot adjacent to the fl-96 whicj
is a 2.8k wide ssb also on a 455k slot. 

when i turned on the radio julius i see the s unit stuck at a 4 and no
noise what so ever from the radio but it powers up as normal.  i also
set the optional filter to yes in the menu(taken place of the fl-222)

Do you think i need to remove the fl-96 and then place the fl-257 in its
place?
also i believe for the transmit i can replace the fl-80 2.4k wide ssb
with the 2.8 k wide ssb filter both are 9M wide...


if you have any help or clues i would be most greatful , thanks again
