	Thanks for the reply. A friend of mine was able to modify his
Icom IC-2710 to 1 KHz steps by a mod he found on the Internet.
I haven't seen anything like that for the 207H yet though.

I won't say it's impossible, but I've never seen such a mod for any ham FM
radio.

The apparent 2.5 kHz keyboard entry is probably a result of the radio's
ability to tune in 12.5 kHz steps.

My limited experience with FM signals from space (mostly from ISS and
Shuttle contacts) is that 5 kHz steps are adequate, if not ideal, for
Doppler compensation.
