The IC-2720 is already on dealers' shelves in Japan. Read about it here:

As soon as it passes FCC certification, it will be available in the U.S. I
would guess at a Dayton 2003 debut.

Receiver intermod rejection at 20 kHz offset is a discussion for another
evening.
