[Icom] IC-821 delayed transmit output

Hi All,    Am having a new problem with my IC-821 multimode v/u xcvr..
When enabling the push to talk, panel button or mic, there is now about a
two second delay before the RF output appears on the meter & external
wattmeter.. Occurs on both VHF & UHF especially at lower power output
settings.

Have checked all over the xmit ALC & APC circuit but cause is still eluding
me..

Has anyone see this behavior before & resolved it?
