Thanks for the information on the AT-500.
The application for which I am considering trying to find one is this:
I'd put it in the attic, about 50 feet from the operating position.
I'd be using it with an IC756PRO, currently, and will be adding an
amp soon. I want to have a short coax pigtail to a balun outside the
attic, and then use open wire feeders to a dipole that's at maximum about
75M length, 125'. I want to be able to use that dipole on 160M and
80M, covering significant portions of both bands. If necessary, I can
trim the feedline or dipole elements to make the match easier, and try
both 1:1 and 1:4 baluns.
I can do this with many automatic tuners at 100W, and I have an old
AH2 that I'll put into service, until I get an amp running, but I want
to plan ahead.
What connections does it use? The band-select voltage from the radio?
Anything else?
