Because so many Icom subscribers use arrl.net addresses and this issue may
have a direct impact on the functioning of the reflector, I felt this was
appropriate to post. If you use either Juno or Hotmail, you will no longer
receive mail via the arrl.net forwarding service until further notice. I
suggest you contact Juno or Hotmail to register your concerns. The ARRL is
already doing everything they can.

Dear ARRL CCE Mentor/ARRL.net subscriber:

Our records indicate that some of you are having your arrl.net e-mail
address forwarded to an account at either Hotmail or Juno.com. We are
communicating with you today to make you aware of a situation that has
developed.

In an arbitrary decision, both Hotmail and Juno have informed our outside
vendor that, effective immediately, they are no longer accepting e-mail
forwarded to their systems from the arrl.net mail server. Ostensibly, they
contend that this is the result of spam being forwarded through the
arrl.net system. Unfortunately, as they are well aware, spam filtering is
not a simple problem and one that cannot be solved through this method.

We are trying to deal directly with both Hotmail and Juno but it appears
that this is a situation that will not be resolved immediately. We are
working with them to see why they feel that arrl.net should be singled out
and what procedures they would deem acceptable.

We appreciate your patience while we attempt to resolve this situation with
Hotmail and Juno.

Sincerely,

Barry J. Shelley, N1VXY
