[Icom] Buy a 756 Pro?

Hi Blair,

S/N 1900 ~ 2000 seems to be a "magic watershed" for most new Icom radios. I
have no precise information on what changes this transition entails, but it
seems to be the point at which fixes and upgrades in response to the ARRL
Lab (and possibly CQ-DL) test suites go into the design. Icom will not
comment on this process.

There was a TFT display upgrade for the Pro. Icom will normally not do it
unless they are replacing a failed display. I got the upgrade because Icom
Canada replaced the complete front=panel assembly of my Pro (S/N 26XX) to
fix a Dual Watch problem.

Cheers for now, 73,
Adam VA7OJ/AB4OJ

What happened at or after #2000?
