[Icom] East coast warranty repairs

For those of you who asked

Several weeks ago, I asked for ideas on who would be available on the east
coast to do warranty repairs on my IC746PRO. It seems that my VFO knob
(second one!) was working itself loose. Between the replies I received here,
and the Icom website, I contacted a number of authorized Icom repair
facilities as far west as Texas and the Dakotas.

What I found is that most Icom authorized service centers won't touch it
unless you bought it from them. Pay back I guess.... Replies varied from
cordial responses, to one turkey in Texas who was so rude that I hung up on
him.

I finally got a positive from Burghardt Amateur Supply. They received the
rig on this past Monday, and shipped it out, repaired, on Wednesday
afternoon. I should have it this coming Monday. Now, that is service!!
