Try also to look for a gromet that may be beside the steering wheel colum, 
this is probably a better spot than with the accel. cable just to be on the 
safe side. as well try using the car rabio fuse or go direst to the 
battery,just make sure that u tap the fuse on the power side not the side 
that the radio goes off of < usually it is a red fuse > i have installed 
many comercial radios to the fuse box as well as numorous Global Star 
Satalite phones as well and have not had any noise problems < if you find 
you are getting noise i have found GM airbags tend to generate alot of noise 
 > but if you want to do it "the correct" way then go direct to the battery 
through the fire wall but not the same hole as the antenna cable < to reduce 
the chance of noise.> as well try to mount the antenna as far away from the 
engine computer to lessen the chance of rf causeing problems with the car 
electronics. if need be on the trunk seam. good luck
