[Icom] Low transmitted audio on the IC-725

Hi Hans,
In 1989, I bought an IC-725, and encountered the same problem. With the hand
microphone, I had to set Mic Gain to 100% to drive the radio to full output.
I found that an Icom SM-8 desk microphone, with the output adjustment (on
the underside of the base) set to about 70%, enabled me to operate the radio
with the Mic Gain at 40 to 50%.
It may be possible to change some of the component values of the speech
amplifier (Q45, Main Unit), to increase gain. If you wish to pursue this, I
can scan and e-mail you the applicable pages from the IC-725 service manual.

Subject: [Icom] Low transmitted audio on the IC-725
Hello all of you,
A good friend uses the Icom IC-725 with the standard delivered hand
microphone. He complains of a low level of transmitted audio. Is there any
modification for it? Besides using an amplified microphone. We allready
searched at www.mods.dk, but could'nt find anything there.
Thanks in advance
73,
Hans Remeeus.
