I am very displeased with the 746pro.   The digital filtering lets a lot of 
crud thru - very noisy....  Especially if you are trying to chase an S3 or 
less signal - it is useless.  You get the sharp bandwith but at the expense 
of much greater noise. The rig needs a more design work -  and some good AF 
filtering as well.  

In my 40 years as a ham - and as a CW intercept operator for the USAF I have 
used many receivers - this doesnt make the grade for serious contesting or DX 
work.  For routine hamming it is fine.  I want to finally get 5 band DXCC - 
746pro wont do it in my lifetime - the rig gets boxed and goes back

My 751 stays! (the MARK 5 will sit next to it)
