It's an ICOM! The Yeasu has more features. The ICOM is simpler to use, and
it's an ICOM!

Subject: [Icom] IC-706MKiiG vs. FT-100D

Hello Everybody,
I am thinking about purchasing either an Icom IC-706MKiiG or
a Yeasu FT-100D. I have read through the specs for both of them and
they are pretty much equal. I will be using this radio primarily on 144
& 440 bands for voice and packet. However, it will also be a backup to
my Icom IC-756 and for emergency communications. I have had an IC-706
(original version) in the past and know what to expect for operation.
What are the differences, besides the nearly $100 price difference?

Thanks and 73,
Tim KU4IY
