Yes, good idea to put the PL in to the Icom IC-2AT !!

I love my IC-32AT, had several IC-02AT/04/AT'S, but when it came to having a
for sure backup when other bell's and whistles rigs hiccupped, my Icom
IC-2AT has never failed me and always works .... plus I can service it ....
hi hi

I not only put a single freq's 100hz pl tone board in to it, I also put in a
switch that extended the receive range. The pl tone board also picks its
ground up from the duplex switch and is only operational when in duplex
mode, not simplex.

The extended receive range switch changes the hardwired 14 portion of the
frequency selector (144.xxx-148.xxx mhz) to 15 so you can tune 150-160mhz.
This switch also disables the tx capability when in extended receive mode
(though it didn't have to be).

Now I can monitor a favorite two meter frequency and not tie up the bell's
and whistles ht while it is scanning, or in the case of the IC-32AT, using
it for portable/mobile cross banding two meters and four forty.

Not many Ht's anymore have the audio output that the 2at has, even though my
FT-50RD comes close for its size class.

Yes, I would put the pl in to this fine ht (02at) agian, though I wouldn't
bother with the band switch these days .... hi hi
