I don't know if you are a MARS member, but Icom will make the MARS mod fo=
r 1/2 hour labor charge ($37.50) plus shipping if you are in MARS and it =
does not void warranty - I don't know if they will do it if you are not i=
n MARS or if they have or will have a mod to just allow those freqs - Kin=
da think MARS mod is easy way to go but it opens the whole thing up from =
heat to light.  You have to be careful not to trasnsmit out of band once =
it is done - It is not type accepted even though it will work fine on mar=
ine and other bands.

My warranty does not expire until next year which certainly precludes me =
from getting my golden screwdriver out and apply the above.  The writer i=
ndicates this to be about a 10 minute job, however I've personally turned=
 10 minute jobs into a week long nightmare.

I had my Icom-745 for about 20 years and modified the tx range after abou=
t 10 years for the new bands.  Soo I'll just hold off until next year to =
do the IC-756Pro mod.

This modification must be available [somewhere] on the web and, once the =20
warranty expires, be most practical to he done at home.  The sad part is =20
that it probably opens *everything* and not just the proposed 60-M alloca=
tion.
