[Icom] One Noise Fixed-Got Another One

Thanks to all that responded to my cry for help with the noise problem and
the MKIIG. I had indeed neglected to insert the grounding screw in the
radio end of the separation cable and I also put a ferrite bead on the radio
end and all of that squealing is gone. I traced it to the vehicle security
system that is located behind the dash, about 3" from where the control head
is mounted.

With this fixed, I started the truck and find that I have a whole new set of
problems :-( I'm getting an S-7 hash sound that is independent of the RPM
of the engine. I grounded the radio to the seat bolt and the level was
reduced a bit but it is still masking most signals under S-5. Thinking this
might be the famous fuel pump problem I did the two-second test where I turn
the key on and listen for two seconds without starting the engine. I heard
nothing. The noise is not present unless the engine is running. Should I
still go ahead and put a .01 cap between the pos. and neg. fuel pump leads?
Any other ideas as to what is causing this noise?
