[Icom] volatile ram

Morrie,

To my knowledge, the only radios employing volatile RAM are the following:

IC-751/A
IC-751
IC-745
ICR71E/A
IC-271
IC-471
IC-1271
IC-761 (possibly)

All newer Icom HF transceivers (including the IC-765 and IC-781) store the
operating firmware in ROM or EPROM, and dynamic data only in RAM. This includes
the IC-756 and IC-746 families.

My Icom page http://www.qsl.net/ab4oj/icom/icom.html lists 3 suppliers of
non-volatile replacement boards; Nardo, Willco and PIEXX.

Please feel free to share this information with the "lads down under".

Best 73,
Adam, VA7OJ/AB4OJ
