Maybe I should apologize for making the comment on the coat hanger. (See
below, scroll down)
The beautiful wire coathanger, used by amatuers for manythings. For fish
tapes through firewalls, ordinary walls, and other places in order to set
up a station. For pins to hold down radials on the ground and (when etch
to remove the laquer covering) muliply ground rods that enter soft ground
easily. For large loading coils for antennas and as antennas for field
strength meters. But least of all an emergency antenna for an ICOM
handheld. (Does this make it ICOM reflector acceptable??)
Yeppers, that is what I have heard and seen the metal recyclable coathanger
used for.
Now I can even use piano wire. Thanks Tony. Only trouble my piano doesnot
have piano wires.
On second thought I, shall not apologize. A little levity in the
"recycalbe use for the least cost" hamdom is, to me, beneficial. Please
smile Larry, I am sure your best other thinks you look better when you smile.
