O  oh, the ubiquitous coat hanger!

I have found of late, much to my dismay, that the metal wire coat hanger is 
rapidly going,  g o  i  n   g!
When I was a scout, then leader, we woud collect such and receive a small 
amount.  Sure helped for the summer camps.  BUT now where are they?  The 
plastic variety has taken over.  I have wondered what is more recyclable, 
the metal coat hanger that had so many uses, or the plastic one that brakes 
and everything falls on the flour?
