It depends on the state, but if it's only 1 ear, which the Heil for the 706
is, it should be ok in most states. They are allowing one ear hands free
headsets for cell phones.

It may not be legal to use a headset while mobile.  Keeps you from hearing
emergency vehicles, etc.
