[Icom] IC756ProII vs FT-1000MP/MkV/Field - Apples and Oranges

Yet another spin on this question :-) I have a friend here in
Dallas--N5JR--who, I just learned from a DX bulletin, is #53 in the world on
different country contacts on all bands from 10 to 160. Joel now uses a 756
Pro and, prior to that, used a Kenwood 940. Joel lurks here and probably
will be irritated with me for bringing him into this discussion, but I think
that is an extraordinary achievement from the middle of the US (Texas). I
think that "technique"--possibly with an assist from sufficient airborne
aluminum :-)-- is overwhelmingly the most important factor in DX success and
Joel seems to think the 756 Pro is up to the challenge.
