[Icom] New IC-756Pro Problem

A friend of mine recently purchased a new IC-756Pro.  He seems to be having
a few odd problems with it.  Sometimes, when he presses and holds the Tuner
button, there is a momentary interruption in power - as in the display goes
dark.  At other times the transceiver beeps several times and does a similar
thing.  After manifesting this behavior, the unit continues to operate
normally.  Has anyone experienced anything similar?  Anyone have any ideas?
Perhaps just advise him to send it to Icom for a checkup?
