[Icom] Last Word on Internal Keying Relays (I hope...)

Yup, it's almost full moon again.

For the last time, I hope:

Maximum ratings of Icom HF transceiver internal keying relays:

16V @ 200 mA DC

Exceed these ratings at your peril. Fortunately, it's not my problem if you
blow your relay.

"The answer is 25v 7mA. Piece of cake for the ProII relay
or for that
matter any relay."

Well, maybe NOT. Here is what I got from Icom Tech support
when I asked that question:

The rating is 16 votla/2 amps....
This means you can run a max of 2 amps or 16 volts, but not
both.....
Generaly 13.8 volts at 1 amp.

I have been told that the manual is wrong with respect to
the rating of the "SEND RELAY" in the manual is incorrect -
that the 2 amp rating is wrong and that the correct rating
is 2100 milliamps.

What is the correct rating, please?

Thanks for your help.

Steve,

GO to Alpha...... See
http://www.alpha-amps.com/html/ampkey.htm
The answer is 25v 7mA. Piece of cake for the ProII relay or
for that
matter any relay.
