Dear OM,

That is exactly what I always found in my Yeasu rigs. It is always like you
discribe it.

The manual of my FT-1000MP Mark V says:

"..., while the FSK mode uses a closure to ground (in the TNC or terminal
unit) to cause the transceiver to generate the "mark" and "space" tones."

The transceiver generates the tones!

The same with the FT990/FT1000D/FT-1000MP.
