[Icom] IC 746 problem, followup

Several of you have suggested that the FL 100 filter may not have been
installed correctly, causing my audio problem. That may well be. I installed
it  per the instructions on page 78 of the manual, but after choosing the
NAR option, cannot get it recognize the 500 KC filter. The lowest one
recognized is 2.4. Anyway, I took the FL100 out, the problem is still there,
but doesn't seem as bad. I tried reseating the filter in both 9 Mc slots,
and cannot really tell that a filter is there. I guess at least a part of
the problem could be a bad filter, but the audio is still dropping out on
RTTY, even with the rig blaster and MTTY out of the circuit.

Short of sending the thing back to Icom, does anyone else have any ideas.
