[Icom] AH-4 and coax

Robert,
The AH-4 is not optimised for loads which would typically be fed via coax.
It is intended for use with complex loads such as electrically short
verticals (e.g. mobile whips) and random-wire antennas.
To match your IC-706 to a near-resonant antenna (typically coax-fed, with an
SWR excursion no greater than 3:1), the AT-180 is the recommended autotuner.
The AT-150, available on the second-hand market, will also do the job.

I don't remember seeing this discussed. I wonder if anyone has used his
706mk2g / ah4 with coax on the output rather than to feed a long wire? I
don't use my radio mobile but would like an auto tuner to protect it.
