Fern,

The best approach to splitting the RF output is to use a diplexer. 
Diplexers are available commercially or you can home brew one. The 
Proceedings of the 2001 Central States VHF Conference has an article by 
Kent, WA5VJB on how to make one for 50MHz/HF and one to split the 432 and 
144 MHz outputs of an IC706MKIIG. The conference proceedings are available 
from the ARRL.
