Steve, would you mind telling me where to look on Eham for Julius' review?
I didn't find it under the PRO reviews.

Beyond that, your statement really bowls me over. I am not sure what you
mean by "set up to run only 60 watts out" but mine consistently delivers
over 100 watts output on all bands and all modes except AM where a wise
operator settles for a 25-watt carrier.

The PRO digital meter reads PEP output and correlating that with my scope
monitoring of the r-f output envelope plus the PEP and average wattmeter
readings on the antenna tuner reveals that the PRO readily can deliver 100
watts PEP when properly driven and without flat-topping or otherwise
visibly distorting the signal pattern on SSB.

Now, it may be that Julius is saying that IMD is much lower at 60 watts
than at 100 watts and I fully agree with that. In fact, for PSK31 I limit
operation to 40 watts PEP on the two-tone IDLE signal in order to achieve
IMD reports of -30 db and better.

Or, he may be remarking that the analog panel meter will seldom kick up
much beyond the 60-watt level, but that is a function of meter damping and
its inability to follow voice peaks, etc.

Or, he may be referring to AM operation . . .

You got me curious! Appreciate any added info . . .

Thanks, Steve
