OK, Ekki:
I just downloaded and installed the pls from the link you provided in
your last message and the program responds now, in a 1.) Upon starting,
the program reads the memories in succession, then stands by with the green
"LED" displayed. At this point the memory contents are displayed with the
current text in the radio's memories correct, but they are "grayed out",
along with all manner of speaking. Let me elaborate some, and you can tell
me if this is normal behavior (by the way, I'm using Windows 98SE):
of the STORE buttons. Only the EXIT button is active. I am not able to edit
any of the memories at this point. If I select Store all from the drop-down
menu, the status bar briefly reads "Storing data..." and the buttons and
memory edit lines become active. At this point, I am able to edit and store
memories, either individually or using "Store all" commands.
2.) When storing memory contents, I receive the error message "Error
writing count up trigger mem" if I am attempting to write the count up
function to memory one. Also, the count up function is written to the wrong
memory number i.e.: Trigger button set to memory 2-count up function written
to memory 1, Trigger button set to memory 3--- count up function written to
memory 2. I receive the error message when attempting to write trigger to
memory number one and am unable to write trigger to memory 4.

I hope this is a detailed enough description of the symptoms I am
encountering.

Thanks, Ekki:

 Hmmmm...
well, then we have to investigate a little further, if you are interested.

The program indicates in the status bar on the lower edge of the
window, what item it is trying to download. What does it say
there, just _before_ you get the error message? Do the four edit
boxes perhaps already show the CW keyer memories? I read the
memories first, then the keyer speed, then other items - but only
on the 756ProII, because other rigs don't have them. So it's
probably there wehre it is hanging.

What Windows version are you using?

The 756Pro II CI-V address is set to 64h on the rig, and 64 (h is not
allowed) in the program window. No good.

 Hi William,
is it possible that you changed the CI-V adress of your rig? If
 so, please
enter the new adress in the little, topmost edit box. The green
 LED comes on
after the program could successfully open the COM port and verify
 that there
is really a rig connected. The only way to get a timeout (rig not
responding) would be if the adress is other than expected.

 Hi, Ekki:
I am having no luck getting IPKMS to communicate with my
756ProII, regardless of CI-V address, COM Port or Baud Rate
 settings on both
rig and computer, I know that my interface and port are working
 correctly,
because I use them for rig control functions with another program (not
running when I try to use IPKMS). I just get the green "led"
 indication for
a few seconds before an error message "Rig not responding". Is there
 something I am missing?
