I have had my 756PRO for about a month now and have really enjoyed operating
this rig. I have encountered a few features that have confused me, one of
which is repeater operation.
I have followed page 46 of the 756PRO manual and successfully operated in
the VFO mode through 6m FM repeaters. My problems began when I attempted to
save the settings associated with any given repeater into memory. I could
not find any specific instructions for doing this in the manual.
If I have the rig setup for repeater operation in the VFO mode and push the
Memory Write switch for 2 seconds it appears that only the receive frequency
and tone are memorized. If I then select the Memory mode and move to a
memory channel set for simplex operation then I must push the Split switch
to unsplit the operation. Staying in the Memory mode, if I then return to
the memory channel I had setup for repeater operation I must push the Split
switch for 2 seconds to enable operation through that repeater. Likewise in
the Memory mode if I move from one memory channel to another memory channel
(both associated with repeater operation) I must push the Split switch to
unsplit then push the Split switch for 2 seconds to obtain the proper
transmit frequency.
Is there a method for memorizing all settings needed for 6m repeater
operation so that the need to actuate the Split switch is avoided each time
a different repeater is selected?
