Hi Dave; I have the 706MKIIg and the 756 but most of the Icom rigs produced in
the last decade or so are the same. The pin outs are as follows -706, pin1-
+8VDC, 2 -freq - up/down, 3 - AF out, 4 - PTT, 5- Mic Gnd, 6 - Mic in, 7 - Rig
Gnd, 8 - Squelch switch. For the round 8 pin connector on the 756, Pin 1 - Mic
in, 2 - +8VDC, 3 - Freq up/down, 4 - Squelch switch, 5 - PTT, 6 - Rig Gnd, 7 -
Mic Gnd, 8 - AF out.
I have used the SM-20 to these configurations in a home made OPC-589. Good
luck, Keith, VE3JKC
