[Icom] curious IC821 problem

Hi list,
besides weak signal, I use my 821H occasionally for Packet. 9k6 on 70cm w=
orks=20
fine since years, but recently I wanted to try APRS (1k2) on 2m.

TNC is a standard TNC2.

Rx works fine, but after the TNC transmits the first APRS beacon the rece=
iver=20
becomes totally deaf. I can still hear the usually S9+ digi very faintly,=
 no=20
decode.
When I turn the rig off and back on again, sensitivity is back to normal,=
=20
until the next transmission.

When I reduce power to abt 10% the problem goes away, i.e. the TNC can=20
transmit as much as it wants, the Rx maintains its sensitivity.

Any ideas what that could be?
