Tony, to see this on a scope would require one with a single-sweep
capability, or a storage scope, to capture the initial leading edge of the
output signal. An alternative might be to use full QSK and examine a string
of dots or dashes, although the long time constant of the usual ALC setup
would eliminate the overshoot after only a few code elements, I would
think.
I agree that transients like this require a scope for examination.
