That does not occur with my 765, and it did not occur with my 761 as
observed on an oscilloscope waveform monitor.
You may want to use an oscilloscope to confirm your observations.
If the spike is really there (on the scope) I would look for the spike while
using VOX and if no spike then perhaps you have something in your PTT
switch, such as an acoustical click that is feeding back into your
microphone?
