Ron, I don't know how "dead" your TX is, but a common failure in the 765 (
probably the same general setup in the 761) is the transistor that drives
the driver and final stages in the output module. The 765 had a number of
design problems that caused that transistor to fail. I replaced mine four
times before Gary Fiber took pity on me and sent me the entire 765 file on
mods and updates from their service shop. I made the suggested mods and no
more failures. In the 765 I successfully replaced the transistor with a
2N2222 while waiting for the right part to arrive.
So, if everything seems to be working but you are getting zero to maybe a
watt out of the TX, look at that last transmitter driver transistor in the
low-level circuitry prior to the output module.
