Yes, that's the purpose of this reflector - to talk about them. I do have
the band selector, covers up to 36 antennas, but I limit it to a Mosley
Pro57B-40 that covers 6 bands, plus some inverted vees for low bands and a
vertical, all with one piece of coax. It remembers all the antennas
associated with the various bands, or PARTS of bands and has dynamic tuning
to adjust the matching as you talk/type/send CW. With DX4WIN, it performs as
you suggest by changing frequencies...then again, I can reach out and tune
the Icom 756Pro faster than I can type. ;-) And I worked all states on 6
meters with 100 watts in 30 days....didn't need 1 Kw on 6m. When 6 is open,
it's open and just a few watts work well. But there would have been times
when it would have been nice to have! Seems that both the PW-1 and Alpha87a
do the same thing. My Alpha has a 4 year guarantee and is made in Colorado..
though I love the Icom line (my station transceivers are all Icom), I love
the Alpha 87a...too bad Icom didn't make it or I would have bought it from
them.

I use the Alpha 87a, it is trouble free, acts as a 1.5KW transceiver, is
completely automatic, and works very well with my Icom 756Pro. I love it.

Well, we like to talk about them, don't we? The PW-1's integrated tuner and
antenna switch are very convenient. You can have a tribander for 10-15-20,
a dipole for 40M, a yagi for 40M, and a vertical for 80M, all attached to
the PW-1 directly. It remembers which antenna you prefer for each band and
tunes it if necessary. If I'm on 15M using WriteLog, I can type 7086 RETURN
and I'm on that freq with a different antenna instantly. That's what I mean
by a KW transceiver, not just the amplifier tuning. To compare
functionality, you would need an external switch, band decoder etc.
Sure would be fun to have all 3 of these at once to play with, eh? Oh
well...
BTW, the PW-1 runs KW on 6M.
