Did the AES in Orlando have the UT-34 I told you about?

Well,
I'm still searching, desperately, for a pair of UT-34 CTCSS boards for my
recently-acquired IC-970H. I know that these are no longer available from
Icom or dealers, but as these were used in several other radios, I am in the
process of a global internet search for them.
I saw a recent comment here that someone (I can't remember who)
thought that another Icom module (UT-40?) could be modified for use in place
of the UT-34. Is there any further information on this, or does anyone know
if another Icom board can be substituted? I am hoping to activate CTCSS
encode and decode on both main and sub bands, and want to have the factory
board functionality, so a generic dip-switch (com-spec) board is out of the
question.
