I originally chose the Quadra over the PW-1, as at the time of purchase
(December 1998) the PW-1 was encountering severe "teething troubles". The
PW-1 has since settled down, and is now an excellent alternative to the
Quadra - but the same limitations apply as described above for the Quadra.
Unlike the Quadra, though, the PW-1 will automatically track band selection
on an Icom exciter, and does not require de-rating to 500W on 6m.

80W of drive will normally drive the Quadra to full output. The autotuner
range, and other Quadra specs, can be viewed here:
