They're still known as MARS or CAP modifications.  Be very aware that
those modifications can lead to trouble if you are not legally a MARS
or CAP station.  As you know you can't use the modified radio to get
on Citizen's Band.  Everything that's legal on CB has been Type
Accepted by FCC.  You also should be aware that if the FCC inspects
your station and finds these modified radios you better have a MARS
or CAP license, AND a formal assignment to transmit on these frequencies.
Also, you can't use the modified radio for marine or aeronautical use.
Same reason.  What I say applies to the USA, every other place in the
