Try a $5K ~ $6K HF transceiver incorporating technology licensed from Rohde
& Schwarz of Munich - no less than Rockwell-Collins' European competitor.

I would recommend that you save the $3K you would need for an IC-781 towards
the new radio. You might even wish to sell some other stuff to facilitate
the purchase.
