I must say... even though I now own an IC-706 <grin>...  I 
prefer the RX in the Alinco DX-70TH.  Pros and Cons for
both, but I also prefer a separate 144 and 440 dual-bander
in addition to my H.F. mobile, so this is wasted on the 706 
for me anyway.

Bottom line, it depends on what you want to do.
