The original 746 allowed use to the scope on an either/or basis and it
sounds like the 746-pro continues that practice. The 756-pro allows
simultaneous (dynamic) usage of the scope. I must assume the 756-pro II has
continued that practice. I have had a 746 and now have 706mkIIg (mobile),
756-pro and 775-DSP. I like them all. The scope on the 756-pro is quite
useful and I always have it on.
The 706 and 746 have/had dual vfo's and you can switch between them. The
756 (and 775-DSP) have dual watch which allows you to listen to two
frequencies (in same band) simultaneously and to determine how loud one
signal is in relation to the other. Turn the mixing control to one end and
it works like dual vfo's. It took some getting used to for me.
