Thank you for the offer sir.  The MK-II circuit was close enough that 
I was able to troubleshoot it, even if the board layout was not the
same.  So the manual will not be needed.  However, I do have the
manual on EVERY other radio I own, and I will be looking to buy the 
706 manual when the chance appears.

Again, thank you for the kind offer.  It was only a question of speed 
that made me ask for a scanned copy.  The parts are on the way.
